Schedule Changes – Drop/Add

Courses are not dropped by discontinuing attendance.  Students may drop or add courses through the last day of the drop/add period online on STInet.  Once the drop/add period has expired, students must inform their advisor or the Registrar if they intend to drop a course or courses. To view the drop/add dates, look at the Academic Calendar here.

A drop is not considered official until it has been processed through the Registrar’s Office.  Students who discontinue a course without dropping the course online before the Drop/Add period or informing their advisor or the Registrar of their intent will still be considered enrolled in the course and will receive failing (“F”) grades for these courses.  Courses dropped after the Drop/Add period has expired are not eligible for a refund, unless the student is terminating enrollment.

Courses dropped during the first five days of a semester (first two days of Interim) will not appear on the student’s transcript.  Courses may be added after the first week only with the permission of the instructor.  After one week and before the close of the 12th week for full semester courses, and the close of the 8th week of classes for ½ semester courses, students may withdraw from a course and receive a grade of “W” (withdraw) without affecting their grade point average.  No withdraw will be permitted during the last four weeks of the semester for full semester courses (two weeks for ½ semester courses); therefore, students will receive grades for these courses.

Students who do not drop late start or online courses during the Drop/Add period will be required to pay for those courses.
