Accelerated courses are high-speed, high-intensity courses that allow students to complete a course in a much shorter period of time than traditionally paced classes. Classes generally meet for several hours just once or twice per week. Accelerated courses are identified with an 'AL' – Accelerated Learning; which is placed behind course titles.
Accelerated Courses
Meet during a reduced number of weeks, for a large number of hours.
Accelerated pace of learning. 16 week workload completed in fewer weeks.
Total time with the teacher is less than traditional.
Work deadlines and content completion will be accelerated with much work outside of class each week
Interaction with the teacher and other students happens both in class and electronically through either email, Datacluster or Web CT
If a designated laptop “C” class, must use laptop in class. Ex., BUS 101-C.
More likely to be computer and network expectations for file transfer and email, or Web CT use.
