Foundation hosts reception after giving $137,000 to STI students

Foundation Hosts Scholarship Reception

The STI Foundation held the 2009 Scholarship Reception on September 23rd to celebrate distribution of $137,000 to 168 Southeast Tech students. Investors graciously partnered with the STI Foundation to provide a record amount of scholarships this year.  The STI Foundation Board and our Investment Partners are highlighted in the new 2009 STI President's Report (click here for link to document).  The following officers and new members were acknowledged at their September Annual Meeting: President Michael A. Crane of Crane & Fowler Investments, Vice-President Deana Larson of Wells Fargo Enterprise Marketing, Treasurer Randy Knecht of Sioux Falls Construction, and Secretary/Community Relations Officer Kathleen Haan-Strong of Gage Brother's Concrete Products.  2009 new STI Foundation Board members include:  Nancy Hughes of The Dunham Company, Dale Jans of Jans Corporation, and Bill McLean of Avera McKennan.

The STI Foundation's Core Business focus is:

1. Building corporate awareness of the values STI brings to our community through workforce development; and
2. Supporting student success with the following fundraising priorities:  scholarship growth, endowment growth, targeted campus initiatives and unrestricted funds for emerging needs.
