TrySTI Horticulture, Landscape Design and Sports Turf Day a Success

Fifteen students from eight school districts attended Southeast Tech’s TrySTI Horticulture, Landscape Design and Sports Turf Day Wednesday, September 30. The students; juniors and seniors from Alcester Hudson, Beresford, Chester, Madison, McCook Central, Montrose, Parker and West Central experienced a hands-on snapshot in the life of a Southeast Tech student.

Six TrySTI Days are scheduled throughout the year including upcoming Scrubs (Healthcare), Construction/Manufacturing, Business, Computers and Law Enforcement. According to Tech Prep Coordinator Anna Fischer, “I helped develop these camps along with the instructors from Southeast Tech to offer a hands-on experience for high school students who want to learn more about a specific career field. This is an excellent way to do that and it doesn’t cost the student anything to attend. In fact, students, or the school if it sends a group of students, get reimbursed for travel and also receive a free lunch which is a great deal!”
