The ALC is funded through the South Dakota Department of Labor. Eligible students are at least 16 years old and beyond compulsory attendance age, not enrolled in any K-12 schools and possess a valid Social Security Card. The ALC is open Monday – Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We are located in room 157 of the George Mickelson Education Center.

Official GED testing is also available at STI. The complete GED is divided into 5 sub tests, Language Arts – Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts – Reading and Mathematics. There is a one time registration fee of $20.00.  Each sub test costs $12.00 and retests are $15.00.
