Position: Program Instructor, Early Childhood Specialist

Southeast Tech Instructor, 186 Day Contract

Position Summary: 
Teach classes using a variety of instructional techniques and methods that prepare students for entry-level positions in the Early Childhood field. Continually assess, develop, and deliver program curriculum that is current with industry standards, Southeast Tech’s standards and policies, and Southeast Tech’s accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies.

Position Requirements: 
Master’s degree in Early Childhood or closely related degree required. Three years’ experience in Early Childhood field required. Post-secondary teaching experience and competency based curriculum development experience preferred. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, database management systems relative to the Early Childhood field. Ability to learn the campus software systems for instructional and student records. Some travel required to accompany students to field locations for hands-on instruction and assessment. Post-offer criminal background check required. Technology assessment (covers Microsoft Word & Excel, File Management, and Internet usage) required within 30 days of starting position. Ability to attain South Dakota post-secondary instructor credential within first year of employment.

Salary/Rate: Salary Schedule    

Exempt, Instructor Salary Schedule, Initial Lane and Step placement depends on education and experience. Master’s Degree, Annual Salary Range: $47,381-$60,175.

Work Schedule: Work Schedule     

Position Schedule: School year begins July 1, 2015, 37.5 hours per week, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
