HOW DOES THE INDUSTRY MATCH PROCESS WORK?
Once you submit your Build Dakota Scholarship application materials, our industry sponsors will review your application materials. Then, they will schedule interviews with applicants they choose. Finally, they will extend sponsorship offers to their selected Build Dakota student(s).
Southeast Tech Cannot Guarantee an Industry Sponsor – Please note that Southeast Tech cannot guarantee a student will be connected with an Industry Sponsor. Nor can Southeast Tech guarantee a student will be offered an internship or employment with an Industry Sponsor. All terms and commitments of accepting a sponsor are between the student and the company.
Southeast Tech Will Award Non-Industry Sponsor Build Dakota Scholarships – Southeast Tech will also be awarding dozens of full-ride Build Dakota Scholarships that are not connected to Industry Partners. So, even if you are not selected by an Industry Sponsor, your application materials will still be reviewed and considered for a Build Dakota Scholarship.
The Forward Sioux Falls Build Dakota Grant provides companies with the opportunity to get additional funding that they can use to leverage the Build Dakota Scholarship program to grow their workforce.
Under The Southeast Tech Foundation’s Sponsor A Scholar 50/50 Match Program, industry partners who sponsor a Build Dakota student with half of the total college expenses can request funds from the Build Dakota Scholarship for the remaining expenses to create a full ride scholarship for the student selected by the industry partner. Students selected by an industry sponsor are bound by the Build Dakota Scholarship requirements and any additional requirements arranged between them and their industry sponsor.
The Forward Sioux Falls Build Dakota Grant offers members of The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Forward Sioux Falls, and The Sioux Falls Development Foundation the opportunity to apply for a grant that would offset one-third of the industry investment into the Sponsor A Scholar 50/50 Match program at Southeast Tech.
