Automotive Technology Students, Instructors Volunteer at Car Maintenance Clinic

Six Southeast Tech students and two instructors recently volunteered at the Sioux Empire Safety Village CRASH event in Sioux Falls. 

Car Repair and Safety Help (CRASH) clinic is a half-day workshop for teens that teaches basic car maintenance, how to change a flat tire, what to do in an emergency and defensive driving. Participants also use simulators to learn about the effects of impaired and distracted driving. 

The volunteers from Southeast Tech assisted with hands-on activities and instruction. The volunteers included students Payton Potter, Jace Graham, Blake Roberts, Shane Nitchke, Ty Hanish and Reis Jackson; and instructors Jason Merritt and Dave Heald.
