Student Government Hosts Campus-Wide Laundry Basket Drive

Collected Items to be Distributed to STC Students Before Thanksgiving Break

Photo of canned goods with SGA logoSoutheast Technical College’s Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting a campus-wide Laundry Basket Drive. Laundry baskets have been placed at various locations across campus, and the greater campus community is encouraged to leave non-perishable canned goods or boxed items; toiletry items such as toothpaste, deodorant or shampoo; or household items such as paper towels, laundry detergent or dish soap.

“This is an annual drive that SGA does,” said Chelsea Reisch, Southeast Tech’s Student Activities Coordinator. “It is heartwarming to see the baskets filling up across campus, and wonderful to be able to help out some of our students in need of these items.”

The items that are collected in this year’s drive will be distributed to STC students prior to Thanksgiving break. There are drop-off sites in each building. They can be found at:

  • The HUB: Outside of the Business Office
  • Mickelson Center: At the entrance to the Student Success Center and Library
  • Technology Center: at TC100, the main office area when entering through the front doors
  • Sullivan Health and Science Center: HC256
  • Ed Wood Center, WC 104, main office area

Items will be collected until Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021.
