High School Students Explore Construction Careers at Southeast Tech

About 200 high school students from O’Gorman, Trinity Christian, West Central, Brandon Valley, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Sioux Falls Chrisitan, Washington, Dell Rapids, Harrisburg, Tea Area, Plankinton and the SFSD CTE Academy attended the Associated General Contractor’s (AGC) of South Dakota’s Construction Career Camp on Sept. 21, 2023, at Southeast Technical College.

Students spent the day exploring careers in heavy equipment operations, concrete, carpentry, architecture, land surveying, HVAC, plumbing and electrician. Career opportunities were discussed at each session and students worked with industry representatives and STC instructors on hands-on learning activities.
