STC Alumna Nominated for Women Leader of the Year
Award Granted by National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP)
Ashley Carlson, a 2006 graduate of STC’s Horticulture program, has been nominated for the prestigious Woman Leader of the Year by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). The award recognizes a female landscape professional who has demonstrated inspirational spirit and initiative, passion toward the landscape and lawn care industry by actions and endeavors and serves as a shining example to other women in the industry.
To qualify, nominees must be:
- An active and engaged member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
- Serve in a leadership role at a landscape or lawn care firm.
- Considered an inspiration to other females in the industry.
Carlson is a project manager at Landscape Garden Center, where she has been employed since 2006. She says the Horticulture program at Southeast Technical College helped her prepare for her career.
“I learned so much from the hands-on education I received while attending Southeast Tech! The instructors were always there to answer questions and to share their knowledge of the industry. Attending STC helped me gain confidence and knowledge to pursue my career,” Carlson said.
The award winner will be announced at ELEVATE, NALP’s industry conference, in September 2023.
