Rachel Beadell Receives Shelby Hohn Legacy Scholarship
Early Childhood Education Scholarship Awarded by Hohn's Family
Southeast Technical College student Rachel Beadell was awarded a $1,000 for her Early
Childhood education journey through the Shelby Jo Hohn Legacy Scholarship.
The scholarship honors the life and legacy of Shelby Jo Hohn, who left a lasting impact
on the community through her love of children and learning. She had a natural gift
for working with young children and a heart that made them feel safe, valued and loved.
She was enrolled at Southeast Technical College and looking forward to a future of
nurturing and inspiring young children when she was lost in a tragic accident in 2024.
Hohn’s family established the scholarship in her honor and selected Beadell as the
recipient. On Jan. 12, Hohn’s mother and two aunts visited Southeast Tech to personally
give Beadell the award.
