USD and STC Open Doors for Future Business Leaders
The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business and Southeast Technical
College have announced an expanded agreement focused on business programs, creating
new opportunities for future business leaders to succeed.
“This expanded partnership with Southeast Technical College reflects our commitment to building the future in business through access and collaboration,” said Klaus Beckmann, Ph.D., interim dean of the Beacom School of Business. “By aligning our programs and strengthening transfer pathways, we are creating clear, efficient opportunities for students on the Vermillion and USD – Sioux Falls campuses to advance their education and enter the business workforce well prepared.”
By broadening program offerings and strengthening credit transfer opportunities, this initiative makes it easier for students to transfer seamlessly from Southeast Technical College to USD’s Beacom School of Business while advancing toward their degree.
This agreement creates a seamless pathway for students who have:
- Completed an AAS in accounting at Southeast Technical College—can apply up to 62 credits toward the BBA in accounting at USD.
- Completed the agriculture emphasis within the AAS in Business Administration at Southeast Technical College—can apply up to 65 credits toward the BBA in agribusiness leadership at USD.
- Completed an AAS in business administration at Southeast Technical College—can apply up to 64 credits toward the BBA in business administration at USD.
- Completed an AAS in human resource management at Southeast Technical College—can apply up to 64 credits toward the BBA in human resource management at USD.

For many years, USD and STC have collaborated and strengthened their partnership to support students pursuing business degrees.
“This expanded agreement with the University of South Dakota creates clear, student-centered
pathways for our graduates to continue their education and achieve their career goals,”
Cory Clasemann, Ph.D., president of STC. “Together, we are preparing the next generation
