Members of Industry Visit Campus for Program Advisory Event

On Friday, December 14, nearly 300 local and regional industry leaders who serve on
                     Southeast Tech’s academic advisory committees visited campus.
The meeting, held in The HUB, featured a keynote address by Southeast Tech President Bob Griggs and Career and Technical Education Academy Principal Josh Hall on new and ongoing
                     efforts to support workforce development in Sioux Falls and throughout the region
                     including:
- Internship opportunities made possible thanks to a $250,000 Youth Workforce Development grant from the Citi Foundation.
- New academic programs under consideration.
- New apprenticeship programs under consideration.
Following the keynote, program-specific committees made up of local and regional business
                     leaders, faculty and staff met to discuss and evaluate academic curriculum, academic
                     facilities and resources for Southeast Tech’s 60-plus programs in accordance with
                     industry trends and workforce needs.
“Southeast Tech is the workforce college for Sioux Falls, so hearing from industry
                     leaders about what skills and experience they need in tomorrow’s employees is essential
                     for us,” said Southeast Tech President Bob Griggs. “We’re grateful to our advisory
                     committee members for sharing their insights with us as we work to continuously enhance
                     our programs to ensure they remain relevant and useful to employers throughout the
                     region as well as the students we serve.”
