Southeast Technical College Introduces 8-Week, Online Courses
Flexible Scheduling Options Include 5 Start Dates a Year
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Southeast Technical College announced today that this fall the college will be offering business and marketing classes that can be completed online in 8 weeks. The classes are designed to help busy, working adults fit college into their lives and offer more scheduling options for students.
“We are excited to add this option to our programming,” said Southeast Technical College President Bob Griggs. “Shortening the commitment time on the calendar will offer our students greater flexibility when registering for classes and completing their diploma or degree.”
For the 2021-2022 academic year, start dates for 8-week business courses are Aug. 23, Oct. 18, Jan. 10, March 14 and May 16. A sampling of available courses include: Foundations of Business, Principles of Banking, Advertising, Consumer Behavior and College Math, among others.
Additionally, all 8-week business and marketing courses will be delivered entirely online.
“Doing coursework online is a great compliment to a shortened class schedule,” Griggs said. “While we maintain the same academic standards and integrity with 8-week classes as we do our full-semester courses, having the flexibility to do classwork after hours, evenings and on weekends to complete assignments and meet deadlines really is beneficial for our students.”
Greater flexibility is something that Southeast Tech is working to offer students in other areas as well. Starting with the Fall 2021 semester, there will be a part-time and evening option for the Information Technology Security program. The curriculum is designed for working professionals to obtain the degree in about three years. Classwork will be delivered in a hybrid format using a combination of online content, labs and lectures.
