Eyes were on Southeast Tech earlier this month when Rod Brietling, Land Surveying Science Instructor, spoke to industry and eight students were awarded scholarships at the South Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors (SDSPLS) annual convention.

At the three-day virtual event, Brietling addressed the group Jan. 8, 2021, with the topic of "The Elusive Existent Corner." Addtionally, eight Southeast Tech land surveying students were awarded scholarships ranging from $500 to $4,000. There was $11,500 total dollars awarded.

The South Dakota Board of Technical Professions (SDBTP) purchased study materials for Land Survey Science students preparing for the first of two professional licensure exams. The study materials are purchased yearly through a permanent endowment fund set up by SDBTP for Land Survey Science students at Southeast Technical College.
