Southeast Tech Students Change Up Base Welds

Project for Sioux Empire Softball Association

Two Southeast Tech welding students, Jack Chontos and Carlos Gonsor, earned extra credit this semester and were able to help a non-profit agency at the same time.

When the Sioux Empire Fast Pitch Softball Association purchased new bases for their Sioux Falls facilities, they found that the weld on the pegs holding the bases into the ground to be insufficient.

In stepped Southeast Tech. Chontos and Gonsor reinforced a total of 24 bases 1” tack welds, making the bases more stable and ready for use this spring and summer.
