Four Business Programs Receive ACBSP Accreditation
Four programs at Southeast Technical College received initial accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a leading specialized business accreditation association committed to advancing excellence in business education worldwide.
“This accreditation in our Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Marketing programs is well earned and speaks volumes to the quality of our degrees,” said Dr. Benjamin Valdez, Vice President of Academics at STC.
ACBSP accreditation focuses on recognizing teaching excellence, determining student learning outcomes, and a continuous improvement model. ACBSP’s student-centered teaching and learning approach, which is measured and analyzed for quality, ensures that students gain the skills that employers want.
“ACBSP is a highly regarded accreditation body whose mark of approval signals to employers that graduates of the program are grounded in critical areas of business, are able to solve multi-disciplinary problems and be effective decision makers,” said Valdez. “This recognition is great news for our students and graduates as well, as the accreditation provides better marketability in the hiring process.”
Southeast Tech’s accreditation is valid for 10 years, with a quality assurance report due every two years between renewals.
About ACBSP: The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) was founded in 1988 to create an accreditation process designed to fit the needs of business programs by focusing on teaching and learning that occurs in the classroom.
