Licensed Practical Nursing Program Accredited by ACEN
The Licensed Practical Nursing program at Southeast Technical College has been approved for accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
To receive accreditation, STC underwent an 18-month long process that started with obtaining candidacy status. Then, there was a comprehensive program review and written report, and finally, a site visit by ACEN.
“We are pleased to have earned this programmatic accreditation for our LPN program,” said Dr. Benjamin Valdez, Vice President of Student Affairs, STC. “The recognition by ACEN is truly a reflection of the quality education we provide at Southeast Tech.”
Students at Southeast Tech will benefit from the LPN program’s accreditation status.
“Programmatic accreditation produces a system of quality improvement and ensures high standards in education,” said Jaci Kramer, Associate Dean and Director of Nursing. “That, in turn, benefits students as they reach their academic and career goals.”
The next accreditation cycle will take place in 2028.
Southeast Tech’s Registered Nurse (RN) program is also accredited by ACEN and has been since 2015. On an institutional level, Southeast Technical College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
