STC Selected to Join National ‘AI Skills for All’ Initiative
Project Supported by Microsoft, Strengthens AI Education
Southeast Technical College (STC) has been selected by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) to participate in the AI Skills for All Community of Practice, a national initiative supported by Microsoft that brings together 30 leading community colleges to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) education and workforce readiness.
The 18-month initiative, running from July 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2026, will provide STC with technical assistance, structured collaboration and specialized training aimed at expanding AI skill development for students, faculty and local industry partners. As part of the program, STC will mobilize college leaders, participate in monthly convenings, contribute to national documentation of best practices, and engage at least 10 faculty and staff in advanced AI training provided by Microsoft and other partners.
“We’re really excited to be part of the AI Skills for All initiative. AI is changing the way people work in almost every industry, and we want our students and faculty to feel confident using these tools,” said Cory Clasemann, president, STC. “This partnership gives us a great opportunity to learn from other colleges, support faculty and staff, and help our students build skills that employers are looking for across South Dakota.”
Through its participation, STC will also contribute insights and outcomes at AACC’s Workforce Development Institute in 2026, helping inform a growing national conversation around AI readiness in community colleges.
