Associate Degree Program

Media Design Technology is a deadline-oriented field that will let your creativity show. This associate degree at Southeast Technical College prepares students for careers in visual communication, advertising and user interface design.

The program combines creativity and technology to produce designs for websites, branding, marketing materials and digital platforms. In just two years, students gain the skills needed to begin careers in graphic design, digital media and UI design.

Master Industry Tools Used in Graphic Design and UI Design Training

Students in this digital media program build technical expertise using industry-standard software and tools. Training includes:

• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for graphic design
• Adobe XD and Dreamweaver for UI design and web design
• Adobe Acrobat for document production workflows
• Typography, layout design and visual communication principles

In George S. Mickelson Center, you will study and master design principles that propel your work to the professional level. In addition, you will learn to use printers, iPads, scanners, tablets, projectors and cameras.

Develop a Professional Portfolio That Gets Noticed

As part of the program, students complete a capstone project and present work at a Portfolio Show attended by local and regional industry professionals. This experience helps students showcase design skills, build professional connections and prepare for job placement.
