Curriculum

At Southeast Technical College, you can begin the Diesel Technician program in either the fall or spring semester.

Admission Criteria  

At least one of the following:
  • High School GPA: 2.0
  • GED: Sub-scores ≥ 145
  • College GPA: 2.0, based on 9+ credits
  • ACT: 15
  • SAT: 830

Additional Program Requirements 

Uniforms
Uniforms are optional for this program and are available from the Southeast Tech Bookstore.
 
Tools

Tools are provided in the classroom, and the Southeast Tech Bookstore has additional tools for purchase to use in the workplace.  

Safety Test 

As an initial lab assignment, students are given two days to complete the SP/2 Safety Exam. Students must achieve a score of 100% and have three attempts to pass. The same test is given each time, and missed questions are reviewed and discussed. 

Technology Requirements

Southeast Technical College's Diesel Technology program is a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program. You may purchase a laptop on your own or from the Southeast Tech I.T. Support Center.
