What is Medical Assisting?

As a medical assistant graduate from Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, you will take vital signs, perform blood draws, record patient history and give injections. Your tasks also might include maintaining medical records, coding for insurance billing and scheduling appointments. The largest employers of medical assistants are offices of physicians and hospitals.

Accreditation: You are eligible to sit for the CMA (AAMA) exam if you are a graduate of the accredited program.

Tailored Learning: In 2019, in addition to its traditional day program, STC began offering its Medical Assistant offerings via a blended online program and on-campus lab instruction on some weeknights.
