Add even more value to your AAS with a Landscaping certificate, available to students in the Sports Turf Management and Horticulture programs. This certificate builds practical skills in landscape design, irrigation and outdoor space maintenance, giving students a broader, more versatile skill set for the green industry.

Iowa StateBachelor of science in Horticulture

Through an agreement with Iowa State University, graduates of STC's Horticulture and Sports Turf Management programs have a clear pathway to bachelor's degree.

Admission Criteria

At least one of the following:
  • High School GPA: 2.0
  • GED: Sub-scores ≥ 145
  • College GPA: 2.0, based on 9+ credits
  • ACT: 15
  • SAT: 830

Additional Program Requirements

Safety Test

At the end of JumpStart, after safety presentations and lab tours, Sports Turf Management students are required to take a Safety Test. The test is administered both on paper and electronically via myTech. Students must achieve a score of 100% before continuing in the program and are not limited in the number of attempts.

Technology Requirements

Southeast Technical College's Sports Turf Management program is a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program. You may purchase a laptop on your own or from the Southeast Tech I.T. Support Center.
