Admission Criteria
- HS GPA: 2.5
- GED: Sub-scores ≥ 145
- ACT: 18
- SAT: 960
- College GPA: 2.0 – Based on 12+ credits.
- Quantitative reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS): 225
- Writing: 255
- TEAS Math: 62
- TEAS Reading: 73
The TEAS requirement will be waived for students with ACT sub-scores of at least 21 in both Reading and Math.
Additional Program Requirements
Background Check and Drug Screen
A background check is required before program classes start. Drug screens may be required for nursing students if a clinical affiliate has that requirement. See Nursing Handbook for details.
CNA Certification
Students must have a CNA certificate before starting their LPN courses. However, you do not need it before applying to the LPN program. You can complete the CNA for credit at Southeast Tech at the same time you complete other LPN pre-requisite coursework.
CPR Certification
Students are required to provide proof of current American Heart Association CPR Certification before LPN coursework begins. At AAR and JumpStart, the program faculty representative will discuss this in detail. Southeast Tech does offer this training, if needed. To view the schedule, visit the Testing page on myTech. Click on Course Search at the bottom of the page. Then, type CPR in the Course Code field.
