Construction Managers, also called project managers or general contractors, oversee a variety of projects in the fast-paced construction industry in Sioux Falls and nationwide. 

Your career duties will include employee oversight, work schedules, procuring materials and creating budget estimates. In just two years at STC, you will be ready to launch your career as a scheduler, jobsite superintendent, project manager or estimator. Your other duties might include: 

  • Reporting on work progress to clients 
  • Responding to emergencies or work delays 
  • Meeting building / safety codes and other regulations 
  • Interpreting contracts with specialized professionals 
  • Collaborating with engineers and architects

Learn to Read Plans and Manage Costs

Your construction-centered coursework takes place in the Ed Wood Trade and Industry Center. Here, you’ll develop the ability to read and interpret construction plans, calculate material costs, and analyze methods of construction. You’ll also learn to evaluate mechanics and structural loads so you can make informed decisions on any job site.
